About 2,500 cruise passengers from nearly 60 different nationalities will arrive on 10 May in Ravenna. In fact, the cruise ships Hapag Lloyd’s Europa and Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas will dock at the Porto Corsini cruise terminal.
The guests of the two ships, to which added more than a thousand crew members, are predominantly American and Canadian, but there are also British and German cruise passengers.
The presence of two large cruise ships at the same time did not occur in Ravenna since May 2015 and, by a mere coincidence, it were the two ships that will moor on 10 May. In 2018 there will be a double call again on June 26, with Vision of the Seas and Artemis.
A beautiful opportunity for Ravenna port, for the City and its territory to demonstrate on which warm and cordial hospitality the arriving cruise passengers can count and above all to consolidate the excellent relations with the cruise companies in view of the imminent launch of the project for the seabed dredging, thanks to which the port can concretely aspire to accommodate even the largest and deepest cruise ships.
Once again, therefore, the Port Network Authority of the Central-Northern Adriatic Sea, the local Authorities and Institutions, the category Associations and Ravenna Terminal Passengeri are called to team up to perform in perfect synergy the most appropriate actions to regain the volumes of cruise traffic that the port deserves.
Ravenna Terminal Passengeri can count on its recent entry into the global network of Global Ports Holding (GPH), the most important independent operator of cruise terminals in the world.
GPH has a consolidated presence in the Mediterranean, in the Atlantic and in the Asia-Pacific regions, including some important commercial ports in Turkey and Montenegro, and manages a portfolio of 15 ports in 7 countries, where are held each year 3,000 cruise ships calls of all Cruise Lines.
From October 2016 GPH has become the majority shareholder of the company that manages the Ravenna cruise terminal and has consolidated commercial relationships with all the cruise companies of the segment.
